Overview of Project

While this is not technically a separate unit, it is necessary to complete our dissections all at once since the specimens are difficult to save and definitely lack pleasant smells. You will either be dissecting a pig or a mink this year. We will take a couple weeks to completely dissect your specimen. As part of this project, you will be creating a virtual dissection to document your work. As you dissect, you will be photographing the various body systems and using a programming tool known as Scratch to create your virtual dissection. You will also be adding to your program as you learn about each of the body systems in your studies. Initially, however, you will simply be identifying and labeling the organs in your program. Although it has some errors, you can see an example of a Scratch program above. Yours will be less complex, but this one was created in about a day.
